You can press F7 to load the largest downloaded map covering the current map centre. You can see an index of existing charts with View.Chart index, and then double clicking on the title of a chart. You can reload a previously downloaded chart with File.Open chart, or by pressing Ctrl-O. If your map credits are exhausted and you click the Map button, you will see a message in PlanePlotter suggesting the following: If you only download maps very occasionally, then you will be unaffected as we have credited all current users with a small number of free downloads. There is no compulsion to buy map credits if you only use outlines, you will be unaffected by the change in Google Maps policy. We regret having to pass on this cost but with so many users, some of whom download charts very frequently, we cannot meet the cost ourselves on top of the cost of running the sharing server. This lastest version of PlanePlotter allows you to buy credits for map downloads from the Google Maps server. I looked at putting an OpenStreetMap server on our own server but the storage and processing demands were excessive. The Google Maps server now charges us for each map download and the OpenStreetMaps server has simply stopped working. PlanePlotter users will be aware that recently, both the Google Maps and OpenStreetMap servers used by PlanePlotter have not been delivering the expected results.
